Central Area Dead Stock
The NSFA is pleased to announce that effective today, February 2, 2016, the Central Area Dead Stock Program is up and running and ready to provide a pick-up service of dead stock in Colchester, Cumberland Counties along with East Hants area. Please contact Matt Kent (text or phone) at 902-986-5368 to arrange a pickup of on-farm mortality of cattle or pigs.
The Dead Stock committee is asking for your patience as this service gets up and running after being non-existent since March 2015.
Please note that the Valley Area Deadstock also continues to operate under, Ervin Sanford. His area is West Hants, Kings and Annapolis County and his contact number is 902-691-2072
As noted in earlier correspondence, invoicing to farmers will come direct from the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture. Charges for the Dead Stock service are 12 cents per pound with a minimum pickup charge of $50 (under 400lbs collected e.g. calves).
Thank you for your patience and we look forward to your continued support of the Dead Stock Collection Service. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Wanda Hamilton, Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture.
